Born in Prince George, British Columbia in Canada, Andrew Gowman's background is mainly in jazz and electronic music. The highlight of his younger life was spending the Summers up a mountain, learning jazz and contemporary music with Vancouver's leading musicians.

Moving to the North of Vancouver Island and working in the Bush created a desire for using instruments which could be sequenced and music which did not require a band. An awareness of digital technology and producing electronic music was initiated and developed at college, and after playing several shows in Edmonton, landed an audition with the Liverpool Institue for the Performing Arts. Within two years, Drew was arranging a John Scofield piece for a large ensemble in the Paul McCartney Auditorium.

That brings us to the present day: this album is a culmination of the efforts of Drew - composer, producer, saxophonist, and the artist creating the sound of 'Natureboy'. Featuring the modal elements of John Coltrane influenced tenor sax, mixed with Metalheadz inspired Drum'N'Bass rhythms, Natureboy creates a new combination of left field jazz and hard dance. Energy is a key element of this album, alongside the multi layered melodic and harmonic structure. Spaced out orchestrations merge with tribal rhythms to invent a dystopian futuristic DJ set populated with jungle, D&B and the darker side of dance.
